Tier 2 Applied Animal Behavior Analysis in Vivariums teaches the foundations of Behavioral Analysis in this 12 week interactive live course with expert instructors. Additionally, participants will master a hands on applied behavior analysis training plan to refine a practice in their own vivarium with the goal of bringing joy and agency to the residing animals. Participants will engage in small discussion groups and a competency exam to earn credentials as a Certified Vivarium Applied Behavior Analysis Technician (cVABAT). This course enhances a care takers ability to refine housing, husbandry, animal training, cooperative health care, and data collection in the vivarium, whether that is in a zoo, sanctuary, laboratory, or farm setting. This coursework will assist care staff in bringing joy and agency to the animals cared for each day. Participants must be an employee of a purchasing institution and complete the competency exam in the tier level certification purchased by end of course. Annual renewal of certification is required.
